Santanyi

One of the most stunning jewels of Mallorca, Santanyi is a picturesque municipality and town situated in the westernmost part of the Mediteranean. Like an enchanting oasis where time stood still, the scenic old town attracts numerous visitors each year who come to marvel at the beautiful gold-stone buildings and turquoise waters and enjoy a real Balearic experience. With 48 km of coastline, Santanyi is the perfect base to explore turquoise beaches, bays, and coves where you can make the most out of your yachting adventure.

Despite being a popular tourist spot, this charming town kept its authenticity and rich cultural heritage.

On land, you can walk the streets to discover the fortified walls and Porta Murada, built in the 18th century by locals who tried to defend themselves from recurring pirate attacks. If you feel like seeing more, head to Cala Llonga to see more remains of the historic fort.

Since many artists and creatives live in this inspiring town, its streets are adorned with colorful galleries where you can buy some artworks to take home after your vacation is over. If you’d like to explore your own creative talent, the Casa de Arte sometimes hosts workshops that will get your creative juices flowing.

Santanyi is also famous for its colorful market, regarded by many as one of the best in Mallorca. Each Tuesday and Saturday, the streets turn into a colorful shopping mecca, where you can buy fresh foods, traditional Mallorcan products such as sobrasada and many cheese varieties and all types of souvenir goodies.

When you feel like having a gourmet dinner, you will be able to choose from many top-notch restaurants. Try the lobster paella in Es Coc, where the owner Marc Vidal dedicated tremendous effort to present the best of traditional Mallorcan cuisine. The upscale Rapa Nui Can Pelat offers mouth-watering ceviches in a sophisticated setting.

If the allure of this mesmerizing town convinced you to stay for a few days, you can get a berth in Marina Cala D’Or that offers over 560 moorings and a 30000 sq m offshore berthing esplanade. This exclusive marina provides a wide selection of restaurants, and stunning terraces with shopping spots where you can pick up your next designer piece.

When you’re ready to explore the azure beaches, you can choose between Platja de S'Amarador, Cala Santanyí (just 6km from the town), Cala Llombards, and many other hidden gems that this area abounds in.
